I purchased this particular scope to mount on an old FN Mauser in .308win. After mounting the scope in a set of Vortex Rings, I bore-sighted and then took the new package to the range. The first thought I had was how crisp and clear the image through the scope was at 100 yards. The image was on par with the Burris Fullfield II or a Leupold VXII. Upon shooting and making adjustments, I found the 1/4 moa adjustments to be extremely well tuned. Once the rifle was sighted in and consistently grouping, I shot over 30 rounds, basically testing the rifle and the scope combination to ensure the scope would hold zero. I had absolutely no problems with the scope. I used the second hash mark down to fire at a target 200 yards away and found while being zeroed at 100 yards in the cross-hairs, the first hash down was spot on at 200 yards, using 168 gr. Hornady Match BTHP. I have not had a chance to check the other hash marks to see if they correspond with 300, 400, and 500 yards, but I am positive, based on everything I have seen thus far, it will be close. Not only will I recommend this scope to a friend, I will be purchasing more Vortex optics in the future.

Vortex is a vet owned company with a good product and lifetime warranty. It’s great to get a warranty with a scope at this price point.

Great scope for the price. Perfect for rifle-length AR15s

Mounted this to my 20″ AR-15. It pairs extremely well with the rifle-length barrel and full stock. It looks perfect on the rifle, but also has the perfect amount of magnification power for my purposes. I felt that a 3-9x was too much power, and a 1-4 or 1-6x was not enough, and also the 1-6x are too expensive for my budget AR15 build. To make up for the lack of a 1x magnification, I opted to add canted iron sights to the rifle. This gives me the ability to be accurate at really any range the rifle is capable of.

You wont be sorry with this one

Great scope for hunting applications. Put mine on a Colt M4 223. What a deal. When I get more guns these Vortex scopes will be my choice.

Great scope, crystal clear my 5 Voryex. The 2×7 power is perfect for the rimfire .22. The eye relief is excellent since it accmidates my 9 year old and an adult.

Very clear optic, mounted it on my AR and love it, going to leave red dot off and run this and the offset fixed sights I also ordered off Amazon.

Great scope for the price

Good quality glass and the eye reliefs is good. Wish there was an option for a quick throw for the adjustable zoom, it’s a little stiff turning by hand making it a challenge to do while looking through the scope. The adjustment might become easier after continuos usage. Still a good quality, low cost optic that I would buy again

Great scope………just, not so compact

Read reviews here and elsewhere before deciding to buy this scope for a Marlin 336c rifle. Trust me, believe the reviews!!!! For the money, you’ll have to jump up to the $200 price point to really equal what Vortex offers in this Crossfire scope. Mine is every bit the equal several of my buddies Leupold VXII 2-7x scopes in every way and bests them in having monotube construction. Even in extreme low twilight, this scope’s resolving power is amazing for just being 7x. Coming very close, but not quite equaling my 1st gen Aetec, which has a much larger 44mm forward objective.

Very good, but I wanted "made in USA"

I was stoked to find that Vortex makes scopes in the US, only to find that the Crossfire II 2×7 is made in China. I initially bought the US made 40mm Crossfire II for my AR, but it’s just too big for my preferred shooting position in the high rings it would’ve required. Still the value is clearly present in the smaller version I have.

It’s Vortex nuff said. You get what you pay for and then some. Glass is crystal clear. Only tiny down side, the eye box is bit unforgiving on the highest magnification.
